To Subscribe to the Iowa Stocks & Bonds ListServe
you must be 21 years or older

 What is a listserve?

A listserve is like a chat room, but done with e-mail. People communicate by posting messages to the listserve. Every message posted to the list is then sent to everyone else on the list. The recipients  may choose to respond (continuing the thread), or lurk (not posting at all) or starting a new thread.

What is the purpose of the Iowa Stocks & Bonds ListServe?

The purpose of the Iowa List is to further and enhance the growth of the Iowa Stocks & Bonds group , the first statewide (we believe!) BDSM organization in Iowa. It is a public forum where we can sort out and discuss the issues facing BDSMers today in an open, supportive atmosphere. It also serves as a means for members to establish personal contact and get to know each other, to lose that sense of being the only kinky person in the state. We have established, and hope to maintain, a sense of community for BDSMers in Iowa and surrounding states.

Who can join the Iowa Stocks & Bonds ListServe?

Anyone 21 or over can join the list.  Because of the age restrictions, the procedure for subscribing to the listserve is rather long and complicated.  The instructions for the procedure are listed below. Most of our members are from Iowa or the surrounding states. The Iowa Stocks & Bonds group does have one or more meetings each month, so being close is helpful.

What are the discussion topics on the ListServe?

The topics available for discussion is entirely up to the list membership.   Anyone can propose a new topic, and anyone can talk about anything.  We have very few rules, and sometimes the discussions become quite explicit. 

If explicit discussion of sexual activities and fetishes offends you, please do not subscribe.

What are the rules of the Iowa Stocks & Bonds ListServe?

We have few rules.  But violation of any of the following rules will result in your being banned from the listserve.

NO SPAM              While we accept notices of the activities of other groups, but commercial advertising, soliciting, and spamming are not allowed.

NO FLAMERS     We encourage spirited discussion of controversial topics. We WILL NOT, however, accept personal attacks on or by any of our members.

DO NOT cross post any messages TO or FROM the Iowa List without the originator's explicit permission.  Privacy and copyright protection are both important issues for us.  Please respect another's right to determine how their words are used.

It is our intention that anyone may join the list and once subscribed an individual will not be removed without cause.  We are careful in our selection of new members. Please feel free to give it to any individuals you think may be interested in joining us, but please that not everyone can become a member.

The ListMaster and the Board of Directors are the final determining authority in the smooth and safe operation of the list, therefore, any other behaviors or actions considered detrimental to the Iowa Stocks & Bonds ListServe and the Iowa Stocks & Bonds Group will be dealt with quickly and appropriately.

To SUBSCRIBE:

Subscription is a multi-part process.  Please read and follow instructions carefully.

1.    Send an e-mail to moondanz@soli.inav.net in the following format:

On the Subject line: write "SUBSCRIBE:"

Message: Tell us something about yourself, how you heard about us,  and why you want to subscribe. Your e-mail address will be picked up by the server automatically.

2.    When you SUBSCRIBE,  The ListMaster will send you information about the ListServe and about Iowa Stocks and Bonds  You will also receive an application and certification form.  You are now a temporary member of Iowa Stocks and Bonds. 

To become a permanent list member with full access privileges
YOU MUST RETURN THE CERTIFICATION PORTION, PROPERLY FILLED OUT, WITHIN 24 HOURS.

Failure to properly return the certifications will result in your name being removed from the list.  You must then SUBSCRIBE again.

3.    CLIP (delete all but the Certification portion) the form, complete the Certification questions and return them  to the ISAB ListServe in the following format:  Please do not return the entire application

Subject line: CERTIFICATION

5.    When this is received by the listserve, you will be a full-access member of the Iowa Stocks & Bonds ListServe, and will have access to additional information, including munch notices and a personals/profile list of many of our listserve members.

You need to send mail from the address where you want to receive the messages from the listserve; you can't subscribe other people's addresses. If the automated method doesn't work for you, send the error message you receive to the listmaster,  and we will try to add you manually. Please be patient, as this method is much slower than the automated method.

If you want to change the e-mail address where you receive the listserve messages, UNSUBSCRIBE  the current address and then resubscribe from your new address.

To UNSUBSCRIBE:

Send an e-mail to The ListServe  in the following format:

Subject line:UNSUBSCRIBE
Message: (If you wish) reason for UNSUBSCRIBE

To SUBSCRIBE DIGEST:

A Digest of the day's listserve messages is available.  Instead of receiving each message individually, digest members receive a single message with the sender, subject, and message portions of all the messages of the day, indexed,  with a table of contents. If you would prefer reading only one long message each day, this is for you.
