“The search is sacred.”

Amen to that!

I have enjoyed reading Sagan’s work in the past, as he seems to explain things in everyday language I can understand. Science can be intimidating.

I had a near religious experience in a jr. high science class, too. It was my turn to read a page out loud from our book. I have no idea what the subject was now, but I remember that when I came to the word “organism” I said “orgasm” instead. The class died laughing, the teacher almost died trying not to do, and I almost died of embarrassment. I was saying a lot of Hail Marys that day. I wasn’t even Catholic.
