Huzzah! There is hope for America! I won’t have to move to Canada now. =)
Americans have finally gotten sick of the lies and deceptions, the corruption, a failed war for oil, and have voted in a Democratic House, a majority of Democratic governors, and possibly a Senate.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m no Democrat. They’re only marginally less corrupt and evil as the Republicans. I’m sort of somewhere between Libertarian and Marxist depending on what the exact question is. *grin* But so long as we have a government, it MUST have checks and balance and for too many years now the US government has been controlled by fundamentally corrupt theocratic robber barons set on bankrupting the government, spreading imperialism, creating oligarchy, bringing about an Orwellian fascism, setting up a religion of fear and learned helplessness.
And it also proves what Penn Jillette was saying, this Red-state/Blue-state stuff is kharp. All across the nation, north and south and west, people are voting for their best interests and not for people who present a hypocritical false identity as a “values candidate” while meanwhile being as corrupt and immoral as possible.
Now, I hope the House does its job to force accountability. How and why did we get into Iraq? What lies and deceptions used? Are war crimes committed? Is war profiteering going on? Why are we spending billions of dollars on a war with no plan and no end in sight? We’ll see.
