Don’t fly the unfriendly skies, you foreign intruder on the Homeland!

Posted by CelticBear on November 2nd, 2007

I’d mentioned before how foreign tourist agencies are advertising their work on making sure you don’t have to step foot on US soil as you travel around it to get somewhere else in the world:
“W”: The new swastika; “U.S. border”: The new Iron Curtain.
And how one visiting, abused and strip-searched Finnish folk band accused US Homeland Security of being worse than the Soviet KGB:
There’s worse than the KGB.

Now there’s some hard numbers of just how negatively our Gestapo is affecting the US tourist industry with billions of lost revenue, job losses, and the obliteration of respect around the world:
Loss of tourism costs USA $100B, 200K jobs, $16B in tax revenue
USA scares away nearly 100 billion in tourism

(Both of these link in their summary to the same news article.)

Well, all those lost jobs–it’s OK! We’re constantly needing more Brownshirts to taser people in airports and create an environment of fear and submission.
